Project Overview: Educational simulation platform for a school client in regional Victoria. Students assemble and fly drones on missions across a digital twin of the local region, learning about engineering and renewable energy. Built on Unreal Engine 5, with OpenUSD and NVIDIA Omniverse forming the backend asset and scene pipeline.
Role: Senior Unreal Engine Developer
Hours: Starting part-time (~20 hours per week) during the initial build phase, with the expectation to scale up to full-time during peak delivery periods. We need a consistent individual for the duration – not a rotating resource.
Experience we’re looking for:
Unreal Engine 5 — Blueprints and C++ — with shipped projects or deployed platforms to show
3D environment development at scale (large landscapes, asset streaming)
Familiarity with OpenUSD asset pipelines is a strong advantage
Experience with Pixel Streaming or browser-based Unreal deployment highly regarded
Comfortable working collaboratively — we do daily morning check-ins and peer review sessions, not a black-box delivery model
Working style:
A collaborative, check-in based model.
The developer will work alongside the Tech Lead daily, take clearly scoped tasks, and we review progress together.
Clear communication and code quality (documented, readable) are important as we operate an AI-augmented development workflow.
